Dear Symphony singers- past, present and future!
We are very excited to invite you to perform Beethoven's 9th Symphony with the VIS on April 21, 2018 along with a companion piece written by Canadian composer Arthur Bachmann called Daughter of Elysium . Patricia Plumley is our VIS Choral Conductor and Pierre Simard , VIS Artistic Director will take some of the choral rehearsals, as we prepare for concerts in April. The choir rehearses on Sunday afternoons ( schedule here ).
This is going to be a big, glorious show to celebrate Pierre's 10 Anniversary of being the Artistic Director of the Vancouver Island Symphony. Beethoven's 9 th is a joy to be part of - and we hope you can sing with the Symphonic Choir.
The VIS has waived the fee to participate in the choir this year. However, this does not mean there are no expenses associated with running the choir. All donations are gratefully accepted.
Rehearsals are at Hope Lutheran Church at 2174 Departure Bay Rd in Nanaimo - ( Across from Brooks Landing). We suggest parking in the back area of Brooks Landing - close to Oliver's Pet Foods or Shanghai City. You can walk across to the church.
Please fill out the registration form - this is to ensure we have you on the list for rehearsals - and to ensure we have your name for the programme. You can send to outreach@vancouverislandsymphony.com or fax to 250-754-0165.
Yours Sincerely,
Vancouver Island Symphony
